About Me:
Howdy! I have been teaching or in education for well over a decade at this point and it is a joy to continue to work with young people. In my classroom you will find, reading, writing, collaboration, individual work, movement, creativity, problem solving, and much more! The stories, themes, and lessons contained within social studies are ever relevant and present a diverse range of opportunities for learning and engagement. I want students to be able to leave my room with having learned more content yes, but also more about themselves, their skills, the world, and their future. I am a proponent of student choice, project-based learning, content that is meaningful to them and building trust through relationships; getting to know young people first as people, then students.
While not at school, I enjoy a range of activities with 14ers, mountain biking, and snowboarding being at the foreground currently. I love to work on our acres, read, to create and most of all to be outside with my family enjoying the splendor that the mountain west particularly has to offer.
